Day (?) of Covid

Updated: Feb 6

I've been resting today. Last night I tossed and turned. my feverish body trying to find a cold side of a pillow or blanket. I had uncomfortable dreams as well: while others learned to sail, I was given a heavy rock and told to swim to the other side of the lake, then when I went inside the huge, national parkesque lodge, I was shunned to the basement, down many flights of dark stairs.

Upon morning, I was able to muster the strength to get up and take my medication. I tossed a pillow and blanket to the floor, and I joined Hobbes under my bed for some more rest. For the next two hours, I was able to get solid sleep. It helped that the floor was cooler.

Upon waking again, I saw the dogs had traded posts. Hobbes had left my room, but Lilo was napping on my bed. I grabbed a protein bar and the rest of my energy drink, and went downstairs. I ate breakfast outside on the back patio. Then I crawled back upstairs for another two hour nap.

I was aware I probably needed to shower, my body sweaty from my feverish sleep. However, I felt weak, inside and out, and my skin also felt a bit tingly. The water pressure from a shower did not seem like it would be more refreshing than uncomfortable. I decided to head to the basement. Since we didn't air condition our house, the basement would be the coolest place away from the midday heat.
